Have you ever saved a beautiful journal page on Pinterest and thought, I’d love to do something like that?

Then you look at the papers, the layers and all those lovely details, and wonder where you would even begin.

Perhaps you have a notebook waiting in a drawer.

Perhaps you’ve collected some pretty papers but haven’t quite brought yourself to use them. Or maybe you’re simply craving a little time to do something with your hands and let your thoughts settle.

That’s why I created the free Wildflower Starter Kit: to give you a gentle place to begin.

You can start with the supplies you have, a little curiosity and fifteen minutes for yourself.

Download your free Wildflower Starter Kit and take your first small creative step.

A little introduction to The Wildflower Method

The Wildflower Method brings together creativity, mindfulness, nature and reflection to help you slow down and reconnect with yourself.

For me, a journal is somewhere to gather the things that catch your attention: a colour you love, a few honest words, a flower from the garden or a scrap of paper that feels too lovely to throw away.

Some days, you might want to make a layered botanical page.

Other days, you might write a sentence and leave it there.

Your journal can make room for both.

Like a garden, it develops as you spend time with it.

You discover what you enjoy, try something new and gradually find your own way of creating.

The Starter Kit is an invitation to explore that process.

Who is the Wildflower Starter Kit for?

I created this kit for the woman who wants a little creative space in her day but could use some help getting started.

You might recognise yourself here:

  • You love the idea of journaling but feel unsure what to put on the page.

  • You’re drawn to flowers, nature, vintage papers and handmade things.

  • You’ve been putting your creative interests aside while looking after everything else.

  • You have plenty of ideas but find it difficult to choose one and begin.

  • You’d enjoy a quiet activity that gives you somewhere to write, explore and play.

You’re welcome to begin as a complete beginner.

You’re also welcome if you’re returning to creativity after a long time away.

There’s no catching up to do.

Meet your free Wildflower Starter Kit

The Wildflower Starter Kit is a downloadable introduction to my approach to creative journaling.

It gives you somewhere to start exploring the relationship between making something with your hands and noticing what’s happening within you.

As you look through it, pay attention to what draws you in. You can begin with the page that catches your eye and return to the others when you feel ready.

You might print the pages you want to use, keep the kit nearby for inspiration or work alongside it in a notebook you already own.

Let it become something you use in a way that suits you.

Download the free kit, have a little look through and choose your starting point.

You can begin with simple supplies

It’s easy to think you need a beautiful craft room or a basket full of matching materials before you can start creative journaling.

A small space at the kitchen table will do.

Gather a few basics:

  • A notebook or some loose paper

  • A pen or pencil

  • Scissors and glue if you’d like to collage

  • A few paper scraps or pictures you enjoy

An old envelope, a piece of wrapping paper or a paper bag can become part of a journal page. You might add a botanical image, a little ribbon or a pressed leaf if you have one.

Give yourself a small selection to work with. You can always gather more later.

How to use your Wildflower Starter Kit

1. Choose one place to begin

Open your kit and have a gentle browse.

Which page makes you curious? Which invitation feels manageable today?

Choose that one. You can leave the rest for another time.

2. Make a little room

Clear enough space for your paper and a few supplies.

You might make a cup of tea, sit near a window or step outside if the weather is lovely. Those small comforts can help you settle into the moment.

Start wherever you can comfortably create.

3. Find Your 15

Set aside fifteen intentional minutes.

This is what I call Find Your 15: a little time for creating, journaling or reflecting.

You might spend it arranging paper scraps, trying an activity from the kit or writing about something you’ve noticed.

When the fifteen minutes are up, pause and decide whether you’d like to continue or leave your page ready for next time.

4. Follow your curiosity

Notice what you enjoy as you work.

Perhaps it’s tearing paper by hand, choosing colours or adding a few words. Perhaps you discover that you prefer a simple page with plenty of space.

You’re allowed to make choices as you go. If something doesn’t work how you hoped, you can change it, cover it or turn the page and try again.

5. Add a moment of reflection

Before you finish, ask yourself:

What did I notice while I was creating?

You could write a few words in your journal.

This gentle reflective practice is part of Soul Inquiry, where we use questions to explore our own thoughts and experiences.

There’s no particular answer you need to reach. Begin with what feels true for you.

What if I don’t feel creative?

You can still give it a try.

Choose a colour. Tear a piece of paper. Write one sentence.

You can begin before you feel confident and learn what you enjoy through doing it.

Some pages will come together easily. Others might feel unfinished for a while. As you practise, you’ll have more experiences to draw on and more ways to approach the page.

Let your first attempts be first attempts. They’re a useful part of learning.

A few questions to take to your journal

If you’d like a little reflection alongside your kit, choose one of these:

  • What am I hoping to make room for in my life?

  • What did I enjoy making before I began worrying whether I was good at it?

  • Which colours, textures or natural details am I drawn to today?

  • What would make fifteen minutes of creative time feel easier to begin?

  • What small thing would I like to try this week?

Write as much or as little as you wish. You could also choose a word from your answer and use it as the starting point for a page.
