Come Unbox a Little Creative Magic With Me

Three blank journals. One season. Let's see what grows.

There is something rather magical about opening a box filled with beautiful papers, little handmade treasures and endless creative possibilities.

The gentle rustle of vintage book pages.

The discovery of a tiny envelope filled with surprises.

The textures, colours, ribbons and little details that make you want to pull up a chair, make a cup of tea and simply begin creating.

That's the feeling I wanted to capture when I began putting together The Wildflower Box.

Not just another box of craft supplies.

The Wildflower Box is a junk journaling subscription box filled with beautiful papers, journals and little creative treasures to help you slow down, find your 15 and see what grows.

Something that invites you to slow down, reconnect with your creativity and enjoy a little time that belongs entirely to you.

So today, I thought I'd invite you into my creative world and share a little peek inside one of our very first Wildflower Boxes.

Come on, let's open it together.

First, a Little Story About How the Wildflower Box Began

Three blank journals ready for collage, writing and creative reflection

Some of you might remember my old Bookmaker Studio in Toowoomba.

It was a beautiful little creative space where I taught junk journaling, mixed media art and creative workshops.

I loved watching women arrive feeling unsure of themselves, convinced they weren't creative, only to leave with something beautiful they'd made with their own hands.

And often, it wasn't really about the journal.

It was about the conversations around the table, the laughter, the freedom to experiment and those precious moments when someone stopped worrying about getting everything right.

When I closed the studio, all those beautiful books, papers, ribbons and creative treasures came home with me.

And goodness, there were a lot of them!

Over the years, I've continued collecting, creating and dreaming about how I could share that love of paper and creativity again.

The Wildflower Box feels like a beautiful new chapter of that story.

A way to bring a little of the Bookmaker Studio experience into your home, wherever you happen to be.

Let's Open the Wildflower Box!

For our Spring Season box, I gathered together approximately 70 creative pieces and treasures, chosen to inspire you to begin making something beautiful.

Some are vintage, some are handmade, some are practical, and others are simply little things that make my creative heart happy.

Every piece has been chosen with the hope that you'll discover something that sparks your curiosity.

Three Blank Journals, One Beautiful Season

At the heart of the Wildflower Box is the journal.

Actually, three of them!

I love the idea of beginning a season with three blank journals and watching them slowly fill with little pieces of your life.

One might become a home for your thoughts and reflections.

Another might fill with vintage papers, collage, textures and beautiful little discoveries.

And the third?

Well, that's entirely up to you.

Perhaps it becomes a place for your dreams, garden memories, favourite quotes or simply somewhere to play.

There are no rules here.

You don't have to fill every page. You don't need to create something worthy of displaying. And you certainly don't need to know what the finished journal will look like.

Just like a wildflower garden, your journals are allowed to grow in their own beautiful, unexpected way.

A Paper Garden of Vintage Treasures

Oh, the papers!

If you've ever visited my creative studio, you'll know I have a rather large collection of old books and beautiful papers.

I just can't resist them.

Inside our Spring Wildflower Box, you'll discover a mixture of papers chosen for their character, textures and creative possibilities.

Think vintage book pages, old music sheets, coloured papers and interesting little pieces just waiting to become part of your journal.

You might tear them, fold them, layer them, stain them or use them to create pockets and backgrounds.

Sometimes the most beautiful journal pages begin with nothing more than an old book page and a little imagination.

Little Pockets of Ephemera

Tags, stickers and paper embellishments for decorating journal pages

This might be one of my favourite parts.

Tiny treasures!

Tags, stickers, fussy cuts, paper embellishments, interesting shapes and little pieces of ephemera that make you want to spread everything across the table and start playing.

I love the discovery of finding something unexpected tucked into a little envelope.

It's like opening a tiny treasure chest.

And the wonderful thing about ephemera is that you don't have to use everything at once.

You can gather your favourites, tuck them into your journal and save others for another creative afternoon.

Textures, Ribbons and Beautiful Little Details

A journal doesn't have to be made entirely from paper.

Sometimes a little ribbon, a piece of lace, a dried flower or an interesting texture is exactly what a page needs.

I love combining different materials and seeing what happens.

Not everything needs to match.

Not everything needs to be perfectly coordinated.

In fact, some of my favourite creative moments happen when I put two completely unexpected things together.

That's part of the joy of mixed media journaling.

Giving yourself permission to explore.

A Few Handmade Touches From Me

One of the things I really wanted the Wildflower Box to have was a personal touch.

I don't want it to feel like a collection of supplies that have simply been picked from a shelf.

I want it to feel as though you've received a little creative parcel from a friend.

That's why I love including handmade details, journal prompts, Soul Inquiry questions and little words of encouragement.

Gentle invitations to pause, reflect and reconnect with yourself.

Because sometimes a journal page becomes so much more than a creative project.

Sometimes it becomes a place to put down the thoughts you've been carrying.

But What Do You Actually Do With Everything?

This is probably the question I imagine some women asking.

Especially if you've never made a junk journal before.

And my answer is wonderfully simple.

Whatever you like!

You could begin by choosing three pieces of paper you love.

Tear one into strips.

Layer another over the top.

Add a little ribbon, a sticker or a word that speaks to you.

And there you have it.

You've begun.

You don't need expensive tools, years of experience or a perfectly organised craft room.

You just need a little curiosity and the willingness to play.

That's where my Find Your 15 philosophy comes in.

Fifteen minutes.

Not an entire afternoon.

Not another task on your never-ending to-do list.

Just 15 minutes to create something, try something new or simply enjoy the process of making.

One Box, Three Months of Creative Possibilities

This is the part I'm especially excited about.

The Wildflower Box isn't designed to be opened once and forgotten.

It's designed to grow with you throughout the season.

Our seasonal creative journey follows a simple rhythm:

Month One — The Box

Your creative season begins with your journals, papers, ephemera and a beautiful collection of supplies to get you started.

Month Two — The Envelope

A little delivery of fresh creative inspiration, papers and treasures to add to your growing journals.

Month Three — The Envelope

Another collection of creative surprises to help you continue exploring, layering and filling your pages.

And by the end of the season?

You'll have three journals that have slowly become something wonderfully personal.

Perhaps they'll be filled with colour and collage.

Perhaps they'll hold memories, thoughts, photographs and reflections.

Or perhaps they'll still have plenty of blank pages waiting for another day.

All of those possibilities are perfectly okay.

Three blank journals. One season. Let's see what grows.

More Than a Box of Craft Supplies

I know how easy it is to spend our days doing things for everyone else.

There are always jobs to finish, people to look after and another thing waiting on the list.

And sometimes, somewhere amongst all that busyness, we forget to make space for the things that bring us joy.

For me, that's always been creating.

Sitting at my table with a cup of tea, surrounded by old papers and little treasures, without worrying about what I should be doing next.

That's the feeling I want to share through the Wildflower Box.

Not the pressure to finish another project.

Not the expectation to make something perfect.

Just a gentle invitation to spend a little time with yourself.

To play.

To experiment.

To create.

And perhaps discover that those small creative moments are exactly what you've been missing.

Our Next Creative Season Is Coming — The Summer Wildflower Box

Our Spring box has been a beautiful opportunity to bring this idea to life, and I'm so excited to continue growing it.

We're now preparing for our Summer Wildflower Box, with a new season of journals, papers, handmade details and creative inspiration.

Each season will have its own personality and collection of treasures, so the contents will naturally change.

But the heart of the Wildflower Box will always remain the same.

Calm. Create. Connect.

A little parcel of creative possibility, delivered to your door.

If you love vintage papers, junk journaling, mixed media art, little handmade treasures or simply the idea of making more time for yourself, I'd love you to join us.

Our Summer Wildflower Box waitlist is now open.

By joining, you'll be among the first to hear about our launch, see behind-the-scenes peeks and discover what we're gathering for the next creative season.

Until then, remember...

You don't need to be an artist to create.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.

And you certainly don't need to make something perfect.

Sometimes all you need is a blank page, a handful of beautiful papers and 15 minutes to yourself.

With love and wildflowers,

Jodie
